It's good that we've gone top of the league, but a little disappointing we made such hard work of a struggling Fife team.
With Glasgow beating Dundee tonight, I suspect we're also now top seeds in the Challenge Cup.
Plenty to feel good about tonight.

Re: GAME THREAD: Steelers v Giants: League: Sat 1st Nov
Job done. No doubt we benefitted from Belfast fatigue, but let's not focus on that. This was a very professional performance where we kept Belfast to the outside and took advantage of our opportunities. PK still at 100% and outstanding again tonight. A player who goes under the radar but offers so m...

Re: GAME THREAD: Steelers v Giants: League: Sat 1st Nov
A much better period, which I'd suggest we certainly had the better off.
The slashing call on Gentile seemed so soft, but the penalty kill was outstanding.
Defensively so far we've been very good, even when we were under the cosh
More of the same in the 3rd please.

A big team talk required from Fox, because Belfast out played us in every area that period.

Re: Player signings thread - Sheffield...
This would appear to be a good move for all parties. Clearly Fox style hockey didn't get the best out of Seitz, whereas Moore hockey did. I guess at Guildford he'll be logging big minutes, which will probably suit him. I like Guildford and Dixon, so I hope it works out for all concerned. Regards Doom

Re: GAME THREAD: Flames v Steelers: LEAGUE: Wed 29th Oct
Whilst it’s always important to get the win, I don’t take any delight in beating a short-benched team who can’t even scrape 3 lines together. Weirdly enough it's all forwards missing from their team, they did have 7 defencemen last night. From what I can work out from the team sheet, Guildford had ...

It looks like we're reserving all our best performances for the road.
Good to see the special teams performing well again, that was one of the driving factors in our grandslam season.
Heard seems to be settling in well and making a difference.
Let's keep it going in the 3rd.

Re: GAME THREAD: Flames v Steelers: LEAGUE: Wed 29th Oct
It's not quite Stoke City away on a wet and windy Wednesday evening, but these are the types of game you need to grind out a win to win a league title. I was impressed with Guildford on Saturday night and it didn't come as a major shock when they beat Belfast. We'll need to be at our best to win thi...

A bit of a farcical way to win it, but it gives us a good chance of being top seed.

Re: GAME THREAD: Steelers v Flames: LEAGUE: Sat 25th Oct
I know I said I'd stick with the top two lines whilst we're winning, but when Juusola is fit I think I'd like to see him join Dowd and Jasper. Gentile has a poachers instincts, but he's slower and less physical than Juusola. Looking at the team stats to date, Gentile is a minus in both league and ch...
