I thought there were three signings today or have I had a weird dream?

Welcome Oskar. I bet he can’t believe his luck on a two year uni deal having never played a single game in orange. Hope he does well and meets his personal goals.
He looks like a good goalie. I don't understand the negativity. Watch the interview. He signed in Hungary for one month then got covid so didn't play very well . Then he signed in the DEL for Augsburg, presumably as back up goalie. He was signed with Augsburg for this upcoming season as well but the coach got fired and they terminated a bunch of player contracts so he could bring in his own players. I think he will be good.
I guess I'm at a 6 or 7 out of 10 on him.kgw wrote: ↑Fri Aug 12, 2022 7:25 amHe looks like a good goalie. I don't understand the negativity. Watch the interview. Looking around the league I think all our main competitors have netminders who will probably be around 91%, but I do think Oskar probably has the most potential to go over 92%.

With you on this Doom, think he has the pedigree and the experience to be the best NM in the league, whether that comes to fruition remains to be seen!Doom wrote: ↑Fri Aug 12, 2022 7:33 amI guess I'm at a 6 or 7 out of 10 on him.kgw wrote: ↑Fri Aug 12, 2022 7:25 amHe looks like a good goalie. Personally happy with Ostlund. Obviously we've all put our two pence in about who's out there but we have to be realistic.

After reading the circumstances around why he only played 3 times last year I'm a lot more confident than I was a few days ago. My firs thought was we'd signed a keeper coming off a serious injury.

I'll make a reasonable assumption that our coach has done the required due diligence research before signing him, stats look like he could be exactly what we need but we must not forget that a nettie is often only as good as the defence in front of him.
I remember making a wrong assumption on a nettie we had signed due to his previous stats. After I spoke with another player I was assured and he turned out to be one of our best goalies. The player told me not to worry about the stats because he had played on that team and had not been for the goalie they would have los 10 plus goals a game. The defence was totally shot and giving him no support whatsoever. That goalie was Joel Laing and was great for us

Arguably the best netminder we have ever had in my opinion, the stats don't support that, but he was a fantastic keeper and I think would have comfortably been better than Bronsard and Lehman if he had stayed longer at the club...steeler27 wrote:I remember making a wrong assumption on a nettie we had signed due to his previous stats. 1. O’Neill
2. Bronsard
3. Shang a Lang!
I agree stats are a guide only for me when it comes goalies.
