I was hoping for more videos and animations, not less.

I think it might take some getting used to and wasn’t the club asking for volunteers who have experience with videotronics recently?

Next upgrade for the match night experience? A new PA system please! Sure we have the original one from 1991 :D

They 100% need to re position the speakers in a decent centrally mounted speaker array if they manage to upgrade the PA system! I am not even convinced they need too. The sound in the arena could be actually greatly improved if they would just re position the Speakers and then point them at some large sound absorbing panels of some sort..

The acoustics in the arena are shocking..

At present they face downwards towards the ice and solid concrete concourse... this causes the sound to bounce back of the solid white ice mainly as there is nothing to absorb the sound and then reverberated around the arana in the tin/steel roof... basically an echo chamber, meaning the fans a basically bombarded with delayed versions of any sound that is produced from the PA resulting in even more unintelligible garbage than we usually get anyway :wonder:

The arena PA system is fine, if old. Almost any system will struggle when facing a solid, highly sound reflective surface such as an ice pad, the cost of a system just to cater for when the ice is down would be ridiculous, now as for when we have a band on it gets harder, the systems required to give even coverage at the required sound levels... well just look at what the big artists have to bring with them, truckloads of highly complex and expensive equipment. I have set up a PA system in the arena for a band playing a motoring event , we used a NINE THOUSAND WATT setup and the arena swallowed it up like it didn't exist, just managing the delay times so that the sound arrives at the same time equally around the arena is a highly complex problem, fail at that and the multiple reflections turn the sound into an indistinct mess. The only practical improvement we could make would be to install a Brummie Sound Filter which would reduce that annoying whine you sometimes hear.

And a Neil Diamond one.
