I do think the team is better than they showed. Why so many off form, why so many daft penalties?
What happened to the aggressive, physical D play that we saw in the early games? Seemed a distant memory watching the game yesterday.

Not good enough yesterday. The first period cost us, Cardiff had their neutral zone game locked down and we just couldn't generate any decent zone entries. The annoying thing was it took until the 3rd to start breaking it down. Got to adapt quicker than that - down to both players and coaches that one.
Bad discipline but there were a couple of odd calls - Vallerands holding call was correct, but should have also been an interference call the other way. Puck going to the boards out of reach of both players and Cardiff player changes course to step in to Vallerand.
Nicholls actually one who played well. He's clever - not a big checker but uses his size well and obviously has some offensive talent - think he'll continue to pick up if he keeps getting more opportunities on top line.
Thought Nevalainen probably had his worst game ever for us. Normally really reliable but couldn't seem to get the puck out of the zone.
Whilst frustrating, I do think we'll take points off Cardiff throughout the year. They're good but I wouldn't say they are better. It's going to be interesting this year as think there will be a lot more losses for the top teams. Might be a low points total that wins the league this year
