Jonathan Paredes has decided not to return to Nottingham.

Not a huge surprise - he has done a remarkable job (along with the players) for simply continuing with the season. Hopefully he can continue to heal, and I suspect be closer to his family. Wish him all the best

Understandable given the circumstances in Nottingham this season, you could visibly see he was struggling at times and he's right to prioritise his own wellbeing. Seemed like a decent guy, I wish him well.

An understandable decision, I hope he is able to enjoy a successful career elsewhere. As for the Panthers, I hope they find a coach who can move the club forward for everyone who has supported the club so magnificently this season.

This doesn't come as any surprise, Paredes looked devastated by what happened and really seemed to be struggling in press conferences afterwards.

I'm sure they teach you all sorts of things in coaching clinics, but nothing can really prepare you for what happened on that devastating night in October.

All the best to him in his future role and hopefully time will prove to be a healer.

Regards

Thank you all for your kind words. We too are sad JP is leaving but not surprised. He was a lovely guy and the players loved him. I really think if last year hadn't have happened he would have stayed but he has found the burden too much and needs to be nearer home. I spoke to him at the awards night and the only way to describe him was weary.
I think he took Adams passing to heart as they had persuaded him not to retire and come to Nottm on a uni deal. Then to lose him felt like his fault. We wish him and the guys all the best and thank them for their valiant efforts.
Have a great playoff weekend all, thanks for all your support.

He's signed for Angers in France on a 3 year deal.

Lovely city. Any idea about the standard of hockey there?

I feel really sorry him and the Panthers. An awful business for them. (Not good for Petgrave either) I hope this brought an end to the pathetic “we hate the Panthers” stuff. I don’t hate the panthers or any team. I never have. I enjoy good rivalry so I want the Panthers to do well enough to make our games competitive. I wish the whole outfit well for next season.
