Strange now I recall a recent SPA comment when renewing the arrest that they were still investigating. Perhaps they were mistaken.

CPS can direct the police to gather more evidence if they feel they need clarification in certain areas of the case.

Still doesn't excuse you saying it was disgusting that the police tried to get a prosecution.

Unfortunately I had an excellent view of the entire incident from block 115. As it happened I was looking down at Matt Petgrave's face with it's look of shock and suprise. Not for 1 millisecond since then did I doubt it was anything other than a horrible accident.

I hope Matt can get rebuild his life now that he's no longer in bail limbo.

The correct decision , finally, and my thoughts go out to both parties in this tragic accident.
I was in block 104 and never for a moment thought there was any intent on Petgrave's part. Hard to see how any “ expert “,could have challenged that view,
Have seen similar high skate incidents since and 6 foot high flying boots in football too. All accidents and the result of high speed sports action.

Reports coming out that looks like Matt is joining the Indy Fuel to try and resume his playing career. Hopefully he can do so and find some peace in being back on the ice

Hope this poor guy gets his life back on track, he's had a nightmare few years and I'm sure he will face many more doubters in the future, its been proven it wasn't his fault and was just a freak accident , so lets hope EVERYBODY moves 0n.

It’s a pity they have nothing better to do. It was a sporting accident. Thank god I didn’t see it as I was away . They don’t hound a fast bowler if his ball hits some one on the head and he dies. Matt wouldn’t do it on purpose. He must have been mortified and had night mares, let’s hope he can get his life back . He will never forget that ACCIDENT same as if a boxer kills somebody in the ring . They are just keyboard warriors all the experts from steelers and panthers all say the same IT WAS AN ACCIDENT PURE AND SIMPLE . Leave the guy alone leave his family alone

If you dig into the post history of many who are posting the abuse you very quickly realise that they would not be saying the same things if his skin colour was different. Lots of racists out there.
