We had the 1st 2mins of the game, came out on fire, gave a goal up on thier 1st attack and not looked in it since.
Struggling in all zones tonight. Can't clear our own D zone, leading to us being pinned in a lot.
Huttala is a major liability at times, giving the puck up.
Offense seem disjointed & can't break out of our own zone, passes getting picked off.
Fox has mixed the lines now, with no discernable difference in performance.

The fans should be asking for a refund tonight, it's like Devils are on a powerplay constantly. Every pass they make goes to a player, every pass we do goes anywhere except where it should be going.

Devils are better than us so far, they’ve been more combative, worked harder and taken their chances well. Our passing is abysmal.
I can’t say we’ve missed young Brit boys because I don’t think they’d have had a chance in this game anyway.

They look hungover, they are not even in the game and dare I say it Cardiff don't look like they've got out of second gear... there is no pushback either not one of our players tonight has and grit or passion and they seem to have already given in.... there is no way we have 5 goals in us tonight. Let alone not lettling them score again...
The puck handling especially has been absolutely terrible..
Tansey had his best game of the season last week, this must be his worst... If Fox doesn't give them the hair dryer treatment in the 3rd break Cardiff could batter us in the 3rd...

Our D look better as forwards than they did tonight as defence. Were we coached to come out all guns blazing at the start leaving the D totally out of position? If not what the hell were they playing at?

I’d agree with most of that but I don’t think we are as good as last season. Tonight was the worst I’ve seen us, hence Cardiff had an easy ride.smbmetal wrote: ↑Thu Nov 06, 2025 7:41 pmFrom what I’ve seen of the EIHL so far, the league is poor in terms of quality.
I’d say we’re about the same as last season, Belfast and Cardiff haven’t impressed me at all. Perhaps only Nottingham have improved from last season of the ‘big 4’ teams.
I do think the like’s of Glasgow and Dundee have improved, but are still some way off the top 4 teams.
The last Cardiff game reminded of some of the dark times under Tommo when watching the Cardiff team.
Play to our best and we should walk out with a win.
4-2 Steelers.
A few weeks ago we talked about a need for changes and I still think that, but we need to improve defence.
