Really happy with this news - one of my must have back guys. As others have pointed out - so many good qualities.

Very happy with Diff. Interesting that Fox's interview mentioned 2 forwards and a D already signed from outside the league. Expect we'll hear soon on those

Arguably our most consistent performer in defence last season, so pleased to see him re-sign.

I think that's all my definites re-signed now.

I wouldn't be disappointed to see either Tait or Dougherty re-sign either, but for me they're less essential than the likes of Bamas and Diffley.

Agreed. I’ve puzzled about any objections to this.

My wife really hates being told who she should like and as a result feels Simmsed on Diffley... like the whole 'because he is worth it' crap means she should adore him... as result she isn't at all fussed about this re-signing...

I understand scientists are working on an anti-simms vaccine but it is proving particularly difficult.

I wonder if this signifies the end of the re-signings from last years team.

I would be surprised if Fox didn’t retain Tait. I would have thought work rate, speed and playoff production tips him over the 50/50. Of course we won’t find out if it’s a case of tried and failed to re-sign until afterwards.

Wonder if they’ve approached Heard, he was perhaps my last of last years forwards also.

Way too early to say but, as it stands - no Heard (potentially), no Tansey, no Ritchie, no (surprise package fighter) Huttula, no Tremblay - we need to recruit some physicality.

Wonder if we could see Saucerman back? And would we be happy at that?

As much as I like Tait and Heard, I wouldn't take either personally. Heard is the only possibility but depends if he's happy with not being in the top 6. He's a decent face off guy and his physicality could be perfect for 3rd or 4th line but he didn't really produce at a consistent level to be a top 6 player. He's definitely on the back 9 of his career so for me, so I'd hope there's better centre options available. Tait just didn't put up enough pts for me - straight choice between him and Jasper for me.

No thanks on Sauce - great whilst he was here but again, need to be upgrading, rather than sideways moves

I loved Sauce but I thought in his final year with us he had slowed down a touch. He struggled to catchup with a deep attack.

I was disappointed Sauce didn't come back last season, but i wouldn't have him now.

I'm surprised there's no enthusiasm for Dougherty. When he signed I think many of us thought he would be a top defenceman.

He had a slow start which is reflected by his numbers, but I suspect post Christmas he was comfortably top of our +/-.

Maybe he just took a bit of time to adapt to our league or Fox's systems.
