Reflecting on the game, Storm played more conventionally rather than the way they did in the smaller rink. They held their own against us even when we went 2 goals up. I can see these games becoming much more interesting over time. Good for the league. Let’s hope they can build their support up enough to make the bigger arena a viable proposition.
One extra thought, they had 3 mid period breaks each sponsored by an advertiser. I wonder if Mr Smith might latch onto this additional way of fundraising.

I didn't see the game, but following the stats updates it looks like we deserved the win.
The expected goals for each period was (Manchester 1st)
0.27 v 0.56
0.72 v 0.68
0.26 v 0.51
It looks like we did OK at faceoffs, winning 25 of 47. Gettinger was 50% tonight, which is fine.
Top of +/- is Balmas with +3. He's not scored this weekend, but he's played well and created for Gettinger.
Regards

Great first period generally, second ok for first 10 min but then Storm took over and a few bad decisions made. 3rd was back and forth but pretty even.
Both teams created chances themselves, and gave up a few soft chances. Both netminders made some excellent saves.
Pretty good overall, especially if you were a neutral.
Gettinger and Rockwood again looked great. Rockwood's pass for the 2nd goal was an absolute beauty. Tait quality again - making my thought that he was one retained player too many look a bit daft.
Great response overall, even if a little fatigue was starting to set in during yesterday's game. Intensity maintained well, details and decisions much better overall. Hopefully can keep it up now.

On Saturdays webcast they said he was out as he was battling illness, so hopefully he’s recovered and it’s a short term thing.lovedenisvial wrote: ↑Thu Oct 15, 2026 9:44 amWas Collins left out over the weekend or was he injured?
