GAME THREAD: Steelers v Flames : Sun 18th: Cup

Another game for Greenfield. Guess Brine won’t be trusted this season much.
Had a quick look at how our nearest rivals are using their goalies in all competitions.
Us - Greenfield = 11, Brine = 2
Cardiff - Stoever = 6, Bowns = 5
Belfast - Whistle = 6, Kupsky = 5
Panthers - Robson = 8, Edmonds = 2
So Cardiff and Belfast almost a 50/50 split. Us and Panthers heavily relying very much on our number 1 goalies.
Be interesting to see, come towards the end of the season how the split continues, especially when the CC games finish. However the CC competition is the most likely competition to rotate goalies.
I’d argue both us and Panthers could burn out our number 1 goalies much quicker than the likes of Cardiff and Belfast
Guildford have a full side by the looks of it.
4-2 Steelers.

This is a legit criticism of Fox; he almost always bottles it when it comes to playing the second netminder. Notable exception being the grand slam year. You do have to wonder why he recruits second netminders that he doesn't really trust, and I can't imagine many younger netminders improve by not playing. Always spend a lot of time in the summer saying how we need to split the netminding duties and how Greener can't be expected to play 95% of the games, and yet we're in October and we've barely seen Brine.

I think the few games that the lad has played, he has played well. We cannot keep using greenfield . He is not the same as he was. He needs to be rested some time give brine a chance play him . If this carries on he will walk so much for developing players, he won’t develop just warming the bench
I’m not there so can’t comment on how we’re playing. But it’s a results game, always will be.
A zero point weekend will be a failure for the fans and those who were calling for fox to go the other week will be louder this weekend.
After playing well but losing last night we really needed to win today.
To me it’s becoming obvious we need another sharpshooter. How that happens is beyond me, but we need to be putting the black rubber thing in between the metal pipes…
Still too new to moan about play styles and coaches. So I won’t be calling for heads or moaning. But as a passionate supporter I want wins… don’t we all?
