Justin Hodgman - Retirement

[SteelerBlade]

After a 15yr pro career, Justin Hodgman has retired aged 33.

He reached the pinnacle of the NHL with the Phoenix Coyotes, also turning out in the AHL, ECHL, KHL, Liiga, SHL, Czech Extraliga, DEL, Erste Liga and of course the EIHL.

This season he scored 45 points in 66 appearances.

Probably underperformed on the ice but I guess there’s reasons for that, but his fan engagement will have done wonders for retention and commercial sales I’d have thought. Good luck to him.

I liked Hodgman, a quality player and a quality off-ice man, just didn't produce what we hoped for our considered top line centre.

I feel if his confidence had been up he would have flown but it just never happened. He seemed to sink into himself in the big, close, tough games.

I wish him the best for the future, comes across as a very decent man.

A player who fought battles on and off the ice , respect for being strong enough to be open about them. Enjoy whatever comes next and thanks for your efforts.

One of our favourite players this year, if not the best. A skillful player who seemed to prefer to pass than shoot and circle behind the goal too often.
Lovely guy to chat to and very humble. Loved seeing him passing along the centre line with the mascot on Saturday.
Wish him all the best.

Lovely bloke.

Probably expected more on ice production from him really.
