Had a good run at the top level overachieving massively above our level and can’t fault the players. But at this level you have to be 100% perfect to get results. We weren’t on this occasion, the huge gulf in player quality was just too much this time around.

Can’t fault our effort and missing Hammond & Kirk wouldn’t have helped.

I expected we’d be relegated this year before a puck was dropped and unfortunately we have. Could be a while before we get back I think. We don’t have the consistent quality at this level unfortunately.

As usual no major media coverage, probably very little funding. The lads can be very proud indeed. What an achievement playing in the top pool for the last few years.

Austria had a month together prior to the tournament we had 2 weeks. Our preparation is poor and the lack of support for our sport is letting us down badly.

Can’t fault the effort and team spirit.

Heads up boys, work hard and win that place back!

I wouldn't even say it was "quality" per say, Austria had yesterday off, we had a gruelling 60 minutes, on top of hurt guys playing through the pain barrier.

We were supposed to go down right away in 2019, so to stay 3 years and be disappointed we haven't won multiple games is really saying something, and a testament to how well everyone involved has done.

Get some of our top guys back in the squad next year, every chance of bouncing back, especially if Belarus and Russia are still barred.

Been a good few years and we have punched above our weight. The short preparation time due to the extended Elite League season did not help. This group of players are at a tipping point in terms of age and a number will have play4d their last game for GB. We need to develop new, young4r payers to build a team to challenge to get back into the top division over the next couple of years. The focus of the EIHL on end of career imports rather than emerging British talent will not help this.
