Belfast effectively were given a free pass to the next round by the EIHL by means of their group structure.
True, but I think technically both Clan and Dundee can still finish above them. Now that would be something!
It would be a nice bit of Karma for those that believe that the Giants organisation gets an easy ride from the EIHL when it comes to things like fixtures.

I have to admit calling this a dead rubber game was a bit pre-emptive, I wasn't considering the overall seeding!

However I do have a question related to the stats and tie-break rules.... all the stuff I mentioned earlier seems to make sense... but on the Elite League Page here it states that Coventry hold the tie break on points percentage.... How does that work?

Should Steelers lose against storm, their results would be exactly the same as blaze, (10GP, 13Pts, 4W, 2OTW,3L,1OTL/SOL) so surely our Pts% would be the same as well? 😕

It's an error, Coventry would finish above us, but due to one of the tie breakers further down the decision tree (I think it's away regulation wins)

Yes it’s regulation away wins as Blaze have three and we only have two.

Good, no need to risk Greener in almost a dead rubber game.

Hopefully it keeps McAdam interested to put in a strong performance, as well as relatively match sharp just in case.

It’s not a dead rubber though as the result could have a big impact on our overall chances of winning the cup.

GOAAAAAALLLLL STEELERS

0-1 PPG

Scored within first part of a 2+2 PP so the PP continues.
And now another PP called.
