Couldn’t believe the scores. Best possible chance for us now to bring something home. Fingers crossed.

I'd actually prefer a Clan V Storm Final myself. ;)

Keep writing us off at your peril! :Smiled:
Likely be the morning game on Sunday..... :Smiled:

I think this is brilliant for the league with 2 of the supposedly lower teams, probably on a lower budget getting through to the playoff weekend. I wouldn’t mind either of these winning but not Cardiff.
Of course I would much prefer a Steelers win. :jazz:

Or given how the POs have went so far, it'll be half and half again!

But which one? Genuinely anyone's tournament this.

I agree that’s it’s great that two ‘lower’ budget teams have made it through to the playoff weekend. I would also like to see one lift the trophy if we don’t make it through to the final.

For me though, it also shows that quality of the EIHL has gone backwards. I’m sure there’s some improvement for the lower budget team in terms of quality, but for the higher budget teams, I think the league has been a drab hard watch. The worst I’ve seen for years IMO.

I still think it will be a Cardiff v Steelers playoff final re-match though.

An early get up for the Sunday morning exhibition game for @DiscoRay :D  E:p

Agree cant see past a cardiff/steelers final and yes eihl standard has been dropping over many years,,,, only have to look back at some of the years gone by rosters,,,,,, off ice things alot better and stable but not on ice,,,,,,, and cant be doing with the pointless 3/4 game on sunday,,,,,,,,

Lots of what I call "Schrödinger's Hockey Fans" around; ones that want a competitive and financially sustainable league where anyone can beat anyone else on any given night, but simultaneously the big-budget teams had better win everything otherwise that's evidence of declining standards, woe is me etc etc.

If Tony said "right lads, we're doubling season ticket prices so we can buy some NHL players" is everyone cool with that? Or we go back to the Superleague days, teams going bust throwing money they don't have around. Is that really what anyone wants? I know I don't. Teams seems to be doing all they can to attract the best players they can and remain financially viable. What else are they supposed to do?

I think it's great that Glasgow and Manchester have made it to the playoff finals, it's great for those clubs and great for the league, good luck to them. Especially for Manchester fans that's potentially two more games where they get to watch their team at an arena where you can actually see the ice from the seats. Good times.

We do. My mistake.

A potential re-match v Cardiff in the final .

The greatest playoff final I’ve ever seen. In fact, I’m not sure it will ever be beaten.
I agree that 2017 was the greatest final - amazing match.

We had a re-match against them in the final the following year though, in which Cardiff won.

Yes, lost 3-1 against them in 2018 but it was a far less memorable match!
