Panthers D is much better organised than Blaze. The sides are evenly matched I’d sa, they got the bounce we didn’t.
They’ve done a good job of holding our sticks. Refs are getting in the way.

Whilst I predicted the correct score, I’d be lying if I said it was a great game to watch.
For me, the quality of the EIHL continues to go backwards. The number of poor passes by both teams was alarming. Yes, it’s early in the season, but it makes for a poor game.
Pleased with the win, just about deserved I think.
Robson still got the Coventry Blaze goalie gear on. Late signing?
Hope the person hit by the puck is ok.

Its number #2 but up to now i didn't see him on the roster page and I was in Lanzarote when he was announced. So never got around to doing it... will add him now..smbmetal wrote: ↑Sat Sep 19, 2026 6:36 pmThe CC is the ideal time to take a look at players like Stucker. I’d have let Aarnio sit this one out. Unless Stucker is injured of course.
Out of interest he’s not even listed on Steelers’ official roster. Wonder if he’s gone home?
Signing confirmation (checking I’ve not made him up):

@Jayboy might be worth adding him to the Confirmed Team Roster side bar, if you know his number of course?

Well we got the two points but!…..
Overall the game stats were fairly even but I thought through the game Panthers were faster, stronger and more quick witted. They battled better and won most of the scrambles. A lot of our passing was poor.. Theirs wasn’t much better to be fair. I lost count of how many times we iced the puck. Our OK seems strong but the PP needs much more work. We were often easily deprived of the puck when we had it. The game turned when we got the 2+2 and eventually scored, but by golly it was hard work. The 3 on 3 is always a bit of a lottery and we bought the winning ticket. Well done Tait. As often is the case we have better netminding but overall we looked second best. On the evidence before us I would say Stewart did a better job of recruiting in the summer. Overall we really don’t seem to have significantly improved our squad from last season. On this evening’s evidence I can’t see us finishing above Belfast or the mostly newly recruited Panthers. We will get another clue when we play Devils next week. It looks like another hard and probably trophyless season. But there is a lot to play for..
