Well we don't have to care but I would suggest it can be an indicator of what the EIHL thinks about where it is and where it should go, although the increasing isolation between the fan base and the league officials is not helping them make good decisions as demonstrated by the cock up they made of the playoffs recently, also the tone deaf responses in the Glasgow Clan issue. I've seen it in many organisations where the decision makers lose contact with either their customers or their workers and it never works out well. Some genuine fan representation on management boards or at a minimum actually listening to what fans/customers are saying on social media, instead of attacking/denigrating them ( like the Steelers ) might help them actually judge where they are on an issue, also not calling them out for being "uninformed" when they are the cause of the lack of knowledge. Communication is the lubricant that helps everything work together but it has to be two-way.

I can understand that, and agree with most of it. What I don't understand is how much influence does Kelman actually have?mark wrote: ↑Wed Oct 19, 2022 11:38 amWell we don't have to care but I would suggest it can be an indicator of what the EIHL thinks about where it is and where it should go, although the increasing isolation between the fan base and the league officials is not helping them make good decisions as demonstrated by the cock up they made of the playoffs recently, also the tone deaf responses in the Glasgow Clan issue. That's a very fair point that Ron.
Generally I don't really care what Kelman thinks especially something said a few years ago.
I think the point I was trying to make is that an owner and EIHL board member (apologies if incorrect), thought or thinks that the EIHL is/was better than ISL was.
I was just interested to gather people's thoughts of whether or not they agreed with a club owner's assessment.
@mark also echo's my thoughts but explains it better than I can

I don't even think the elite league is even as good as it was even 10 years ago.

There are some areas where EIHL is better than Superleague, British player development, financial stability, forward thinking. But the general standard of players and matches was far better in Superleague.

Don’t think the quality across the board this year is as good as it was pre-covid. Probably down to budgetary constraints arising from it that will eventually ease as the seasons go by.
