Maybe the penny has dropped, we seem much more physical, nice to see us not allowing other teams to bully us.
I was about to say just this. Nice to see and it’s completely nullified Dundee’s game.

Wonder if the so called ‘Sheriff’ picked up an injury against the Panthers with the slash/spear as I expected some goonery from him.

Not a great 2nd period for either team to be honest. We easily have a couple more gears available but are doing enough so far.

Who won the Phelan vs Saucerman fight.....
It was more of a wrestle really. Phelan was probably still feeling the bruises Dowdy gave him. 😂

3rd period about to get underway. Dowd just needs a goal for the Gordie Howe hat trick

Both looked to throw a couple, not sure any landed. Had a bit of a wrestle and fell over.

A straight forward win and a deserved shutout for Greenfield. Phelan should have learnt not to mess with Dowd for future games. :ninja:

We did what we needed to do and easily deserved the win. Carr keeping the score respectable for Dundee who will struggle to not finish in the bottom 2 for me.

Nice to see as earlier mentioned that we ensured we upped the physical play when required, it really did make Dundee far more ineffective. Read on the Cage forum a number of posters were annoyed about being bullied in their own building. Certainly not the case for us.

I will pop Dundee and Manchester on my do not watch list for future games. Neither were particularly enthralling from my point of view.

Sean Allen needs to grow up. His behaviour is petulant and childish and gets his team nowhere.

For us Nicholls had another good game. 2 goals and a deserved MoM. Greenfield got his SO.

Good to see Nicholls get a couple of goals.

He was probably the signing I was most disappointed with, not because I thought he'd be a poor player, but because my expectations were very high (suggested first line player and Uni place).

I soon got over my disappointment when we signed Balmas, because I thought he looked like he could be very good.

Both seem to have settled in well and are now producing, which has got to be a positive for our season ahead.

A solid win against a very average Dundee team, we're obviously far more talented, but it's good to see we stood up to their efforts to put us off our game.

There will be much tougher tests to come, but we seem to be in a good place right now.

Regards

But I thought Fox coached physicality out of players? :D Just shows it's completely untrue. I think the difference is we've got the players this year who can turn it up when needed. Funny, but I really think Fox has been after Tansey/Saucerman for the last 3 seasons and when it's not happened he's had to find alternatives and they've not been quite up to scratch (although Piche was decent pre injury) in the physicality stakes.

Good win, shutout always good! Nicholls and Balmas really getting going is good. Just need Watling to get a couple to get going, but crikey he is getting targeted. I think that will settle down a bit as teams will have to start paying more attention to Nicholls, Balmas etc but I'd love for someone to send a message next time someone puts a dodgy hit on him.
