Goalie market this off season was very tight, so finding a great back up was always going to be tricky - and unlikely we offer a 1A/1B situation when we have Greenfield.

If De Filippo isn't up to scratch it will be tough to replace him without some unexpected moves happening elsewhere. One I could possibly see is the guy who signed for Nottingham but injured his hand and hasn't yet arrived (Hunter Vorva). Depending on situation, he may not go to Nottingham (they seem relatively happy with Rok as backup), and might be available. Alternatively he comes over and Rok becomes a free agent.

Hard to know though, has De Filippo had a slight nagging injury we don't know about? Is it a case that due to challenge cup format changes Fox wanted to ensure we qualified first, so can then ease him in without the pressure? Lots of reasons that it has gone the way it has, but doesn't feel right to write a guy off after 2/3 starts, especially given his cv

The £8 games are a really good idea by the club.

8,000+ against Fife mid-week really is fantastic :Partay:

I'd imagine the half term holidays will have helped buddy but like you say, a very impressive turnout

He's only played one competitive game. I think he deserves more of a shot before we write him off entirely.

For sure - said the same later in my post. I suspect it's been a case of with CHL meaning we have played less games domestically, and Fox going with his trusted goalie (especially with new challenge cup format). I think De Filippo probably plays tomorrow and 2/3 final CC group games.

Apologies, I was adding to your post rather than disputing what you said.

It won't be if the Steelers think they can just turn up, play at 50% and generally disrespect Fife, if we are anywhere near our best then yeah it should be a comfortable win but you have to earn that right first. I'd expect our coach to be very aware of that and making sure the players are as well. I think in the early CHL games we got disrespected by the opposition and look at what happened to them.
