Appreciate everyone is more than entitles to their own opinion on every player, but I'd love to know how you came to this assessment?Robert Mansell wrote: ↑Tue Mar 17, 2020 12:06 pmHe got better as season went on but not one I would be bothered about keeping.....SteelerBlade wrote: ↑Tue Mar 17, 2020 11:27 amSimms posts he hopes to see Lucas Sandström back next season, read into that what you will...

Did you see him play in the last half of the season? On what basis would you not like him back?!

Offensively he didn't offer a lot and looked marginally better in the second half but again I would see him as 3rd line at best.
I thought there was a greater improvement in Kohlemainen but again I felt he was playing a role not suited to his game and possibly we can upgrade.

IMO what wont work and would be unaffordable is a team full of prima-donnas. This season was the best we’ve had for a while. Whilst some players were not outstanding in their points production they built a foundation on which others could.
Personally I think Sandstrom amongst others was a hard working solid foundation player. I’d welcome him back.

Absolutely. The team balance was wrong from the start. In a way we were "lucky" with the early season injuries that forced our hand to bring in Tronc and Hrabal which beefed up the back end a bit. We were lacking in strong, defensive, gritty role players and Sandstrom brought a bit of that to the table.steeler pete wrote: ↑Wed Mar 18, 2020 6:44 pmIMO what wont work and would be unaffordable is a team full of prima-donnas. It's why the loss of Meland was bigger than most realised.

I'm expecting the quality of imports to drop off hugely this coming year as teams look to cut costs to cover losses this season.
Pound looking weak against the Dollar which will mean the EIHL budgets won't go as far in North America.
Expect a lot more younger USports/NCAA/Major Junior players who are cheaper and offer decent value. Also expect more European guys, particularly Czech, Slovak etc.

It’s why it’s almost nailed on Cardiff will clean up next year. The millionaire owners will open the cheque book and it’ll be business as usual.SteelerBlade wrote: ↑Thu Mar 19, 2020 2:58 pmI'm expecting the quality of imports to drop off hugely this coming year as teams look to cut costs to cover losses this season.
