I see this one as a risky signing, because he's clearly had issues the last couple of seasons.
With Juusola it was one bad season of form, but with Janatuinen it is clearly more than that.
Having said that, if he is fully fit and ready to go, his stats prior to his issues are at least equal to Juus and probably slightly better, which is encouraging.
I guess we have the insurance of the spare forward if things don't work out.
Plenty of potential upside, but this is undoubtedly a risk.

It says the defence is complete, so I guess it is.
Have to say I'm a little disappointed, because Betker looked the better option to me.
Guimond is 33 and appears to be on the slide. Did well for his French team last season, but looks like he moved to France after struggling in ICEHL.
I wonder if Betker will pop up in Belfast or Nottingham.

He's effectively a replacement for Sam Jones, an upgrade in my eyes. I look at the other rosters announced so far around the league and in my eyes defensively we are way ahead of the rest.
I guess we need to look at it as Huttula/Guimond replacing Nev/Jones.
On paper I'd say that's probably around a break even, so if Huttula/Guimond is our 3rd pairing, it's not bad.
We do now have 5 lefties and only 1 right shot on defence, which isn't ideal, but Tansey and Cormier made it work.
I would have liked Betker, even though I did have some reservations, but still think we're in a good place with the defence.
It will be interesting to see where Betker ends up......were we out bid by one of our rivals?
