I'm going to defend the PA system a little here , you would be amazed at just how good it can be and just how hard a problem having a hard ice surface can cause. Reflected sounds cause all sorts of problems and as the number of people increases in the build up then that reflection value changes making it hard to keep levels adjusted properly. That doesn't excuse just having it set too loud of course and there's stories to be told about various shenanigans inside the whitehouse over that subject but as I say , have a little sympathy for the Arena staff , it is quite difficult.

Well from my point of veiw as someone with long term hearing loss and someone that spent quite some time working with (producing intros and stabs for) the system and talking in particular with Justin (sound engineer) the Pa stytem at the arena is not just antiquated but is garbage to control listen to and operate...
Being described on many occasions as litterally only just better than nothing, large problem areas were if course the arena layout, ice and the acoustics, but it was understood that the music played sounded bloody awful at the best of times and since Justin left, the volume button just seems to be the only workable solution from their point if veiw.
To me it's the single most annoying thing (beyond some of the crappy content that that comes via the mic) about match nights!
I spend half my night trying to ignore it and the other half asking people to repeat what they have said to me..

So who has the ear of TS, to at least make a point regarding the volume & sound quality?

DS does more or less exactly has he wants when it comes to the whitehouse/match nights, I wouldn't think Tony has any reason to listen or act on the matter, he has more bums on seats (with good reason) than he ever has, so why would he think any of what there are doing is any kind of problem... ?raetiamann wrote: ↑Sun Jan 26, 2020 10:06 pmSo who has the ear of TS, to at least make a point regarding the volume & sound quality?

For me on the whole the PA does a job with the music, perhaps some tracks need levelling.
However there's a big difference in vocal levels from Dows which seems spot on to Simms which feels like he's shouting all the time which can cause distortion through the PA because the levels will be wrong.
I am not an expert on this but it is how i see it.
Also when the games in play can we have no information being given from the whitehouse please.

As this thread is kind of related i wanted to say something positive. The Manchester game was the first time no music was played when a decent chant was going. It happened a couple of times during the first couple of periods where they just let the chant go instead of insisting on playing music.
Also it's nice to see the overuse of Sweet Caroline and Baby shark has been scaled back. Seems to only be once a game lately. I still don't like them but some others clearly do and i can deal with once a game. Much better than the 5 or 6 renditions of them at some games last season.

The PA in the Arena is absolutely garbage. Been to a few different events at the Arena and it's nearly always poor.
It's a case of just having to live with it or find a wizard of an engineer I think unfortunately.
