He is a backup goalie, just that, used as a backup, I trust Fox knows exactly what he is doing, Greenfield too.. You play your number one goalie or hot goalie till the point you can't or don't want to.. I really don't see an issue... And clearly neither does Fox..
And the fact he is in import doesn't enter into it once that's the route you decide on.. That's why Crowe is backup each night...

My view is that you don’t want to be loading your number 1 goalie up with too many games.
It will tell later in the season if Greenfield plays all the games. Morrone played most of the CC games last season which I believe was a big contributor in helping us win 3 trophies as it allowed our number 1 goalie a rest.
The CC games are the ideal games to get your backup goalie a few games. It doesn’t really matter if you lose the odd one. Especially as Belfast in the easy group will get all the relevant advantages.

Why do you believe Fox isn't doing that now then, just curious.. Because I don't believe for one minute he hasn't considered that.. Especially with the new CC format..smbmetal wrote:My view is that you don’t want to be loading your number 1 goalie up with too many games.

Because Marco hasn’t played one competitive game this season. Morrone had already played 2 or 3 at this stage of the season last year.Jayboy wrote: ↑Sat Oct 05, 2024 8:27 pmWhy do you believe Fox isn't doing that now then, just curious.. So how can you start him? I asked why Fox isn't and you gave the Perfect reason not to.. When would you now play him given that problem?smbmetal wrote:Because Marco hasn’t played one competitive game this season. How can you start him? By playing him today in a less important CC game, like Morrone did in most of the CC games last year.Jayboy wrote: ↑Sat Oct 05, 2024 8:38 pmSo how can you start him? Don’t think we’re getting anywhere here Jay, so I’m afraid I’ll have to say we’ll have to agree to disagree.
Let’s see how Greenfield fairs when he’s played more games than last year. We won’t be winning 3 trophies is my bet.
We’ve got a Champions League game next Tuesday. If Greenfield plays tomorrow then that’s 3 games in 4 days. Not sure that’s healthy for your number 1 goalie.
