Intentional attempt to injure Greenfield early on.. shocking goonery !
I said it earlier in the thread whilst watching the stream that I was fuming that not one of our players did anything about be at the time or retrospectively. Imagine if Dennis Vial saw that happen to his goalie? Even if he wasn’t on the ice at the time that Storm player would have a problem on his next shift.

Game’s changed though so all’s good.

Well historically that was Vials' role in the NHL so I'd expect him to be sent out the next time that guy is on the ice, likewise Colt King but I'd have liked to see someone like McNally or Mitchell step up, the player had ample time to avoid a collision and it looked very close to a high impact, if the ref isn't going to protect players then the players will have to step up. Thing is we don't know what instructions have been given to players by the coach, maybe he's been vocal about staying out of the box in Manchester for retaliation/retribution style penalties. So yeah, disappointed it wasn't called and no real reaction. You've got to protect your netminder.

The ref did call goaltender interference, but that isn’t enough for me, bearing in mind there were other minor incidents where Greenfield had to protect himself when they got in his face. Our players did nothing to protect him, until the 3rd period.

I’m afraid I don’t enjoy Fox’s style of non confrontational hockey.

I've enjoyed the hockey but got frustrated last when we had no real answer to the goon squads, this year is better with McNally/Mitchell which shows that the concerns expressed on here previously had some base of truth to them, the age of the enforcer has passed, at least at our level as anyone who can really enforce AND play good hockey is likely to be earning big bucks in another country.
