Excellent performance tonight.
I don’t think that they could cope with our forecheck all night.
They did create some good chances but I think that was when the game was done and dusted.
Keep the injuries away and we could do pretty well.

They looked superb tonight . Ran rings round a poor panthers side. Took it easy in the 3rd, quite rightly too. Having said the Panthers were not great they did have half a dozen good chances but all snuffed out by Greener who was excellent again. Tomorrow will be tougher but if they play like tonight we have a great chance of beating Cardiff again. Well done!

Not watched the game tonight, but that will most certainly do.
Is Nicholls starting to look good? Did wonder if it might take him a few games to get back in to an offensive mindset having been playing a shutdown role in the KHL

Probably one of the most complete performances by a Foxy Steelers team from front to back, across all forward lines and D partnerships. The first line oozes class and threat.
However, that being said, it was against a very mediocre Panthere team who with this line up will do well to finish 6th in the league.

Nicholls certainly looked the part this evening. So did the whole team. It was a complete performance. We are still a touch open at the back when attacking, but all 6 got back quickly. I didn’t notice or hear about Kielly who was fourth line centre. Maybe my fault.

Kielly didn't play, we're only allowed 14 imports so he was a healthy scratch.Bryan wrote: ↑Sun Oct 01, 2023 3:31 amNicholls certainly looked the part this evening. So did the whole team. I would have given him a go in this one, but Fox seems to be sticking with the same lineup to help build chemistry. Having criticised Fox for too much tinkering, I can't really complain about this approach.
With Whistle being out and us not having a proper 4th line, Juusola was given the spot with Shudra as players 10 and 11. I think Kielly could have perhaps taken this role without upsetting the top 3 lines, but Fox decided to stick with the winning formula.
I'm sure we'll pick up injuries and Kielly will get his chance, but for now it looks like he's going to be the spare.

I can't really say I noticed Nicholls a lot, but that was true of most of the forwards, it was just a very solid performance from all the lines.
I've just checked the match stats and we don't have one player better than +2, but we do have 10 players who were on +2, which indicates a very solid team performance with all lines contributing.
I'm not sure what to make of Panthers yet, are they a poor team or was this just a very good day at the office for us?
In my pre season predictions I have Notts 3rd based on the players they've signed, so it will be interesting to see how they perform against other teams.
