CHL is not a competition EIHL teams have a realistic chance of success in but I think its good for the league that we have teams that can at least show some competition in the CHL and I'll acknowledge their success in doing so, but that's not the same as cheering them on.

I'd like to think that we'll sometime match Panthers' success in winning Continental Cup.

I'm suprised nobody has won it since. It's the easiest route to the CHL. Us, Giants & Panthers have all fallen short since.

Think to some extent it depends on the other teams in the groups. I may not have got this completely right but I remember we progressed to the final group but then played in Belarus (??) and a team that drew down KHL players. I also think we lost Dowd to a knee injury. (Edited: It was Minsk in Belarus 17/18 season.)

Home advantage would also help.

Either Neman Grodno or Yunost Minsk (Depending on who the CHL place is given to) BLR
Either Aalborg / Fredrickshavn (depends on criteria for the Continental Cup Place from Denmark - whether it is given to their league or cup winners) DEN
Unia Oswiecim POL
2 x Qualifier from the previous round - Teams from Latvia / Italy / Ukraine / Hungary / Romania / Slovenia.

8 of these will be split into 2 groups of 4 with the top 2 progressing to the Final Round.
