Great effort, we have been unlucky going into the last 16 stage, injuries, new players straight into new system, heavy schedule. If we had injury free settled team going into this stage then who knows what might had been. Need now to get back to league and getting back to having that dominance attitude
It's been a fantastic effort throughout the tournament.greeny wrote: ↑Wed Nov 20, 2024 12:03 pmGreat effort, we have been unlucky going into the last 16 stage, injuries, new players straight into new system, heavy schedule. We really had the equivalent of a group of death and I didn't expect us to pick up any points. To not only pick up points, but also make it through was astounding.
To stand a chance against Berlin everything needed to go in our favour, but the opposite happened. They came into the games more rested and we started to pick up crucial injuries. Even then, we still managed to give them a bit of a scare.
It's been an outstanding effort all round, I just hope the cost isn't too high. Our bread and butter is the league. I know people have loved watching the top Euro teams, but that's only possible if we're competing at the top of our league.
Our player budget will be dictated by attendances and hockey is an easier sell to the public when you're competing for a title in the 2nd half of the season. Let's hope the injuries don't prove too costly and derail our season.
Regards
Doom

I agree Doom. It was always a possibility that the CHL /EIHL schedule would cause us problems injury wise and it seems this last game was the straw that broke the camel's back.
It's been a great effort and fun but it won't be fun if we start losing league games because we are shorthanded or playing with injuries. Greenfield will be a huge loss.
