After a bad season [ domesticaly ] no silverware, 4th place at play offs,, hopefully the players we retain and sign this season are more consistent throughout the course of the season and the big one of staying injury free,,,,

I wouldn't say it was a bad season. A performance in the Champions League that had all Europe sitting up ( narrowly beaten in a game against the eventual winners ! ) 2nd of 10 in the league.( at one point in that last match we were winning the league ) Semi of the Cup , with a very dodgy ref decision . To be fair any team of those 4 could have won the playoffs , not a smidgeon between them . The 3rd /4th place playoff is a joke and can be ignored.
Disappointing season , yes . Things went wrong at the wrong time and injuries played a part ( as they do any team I know)
But we have a very good coach and the team was largely made up of the amazing team from the season before. You don't become poor players in a few months.
It will be interesting to see who returns and who leaves but I am confident we will be up there again with the best. This is still a very well run hockey club.

A steelers team am sure would be expected [not a right ] to win one piece of silverware and if not then thats a bad season in my eyes, if you dont win league then not big deal if you finish 2/3 /4 really. Good display in chl but domestic league nothing to show and thats what team will be judged on,,,,

If as we all say, we want a competitive league, we have to accept not winning something occasionally. There's nothing to suggest budgets across the top 4 are vastly different so you'd expect them to generally be at about the same level on the ice. Glasgow and Guildford shouldn't be very far behind and Coventry could get back up there budget wise if Moore keeps doing his thing.greeny wrote: ↑Sun May 04, 2025 6:24 pmA steelers team am sure would be expected [not a right ] to win one piece of silverware and if not then thats a bad season in my eyes, if you dont win league then not big deal if you finish 2/3 /4 really. Therefore to finish 2nd in the league, with it going to the last weekend, semis of cup and playoffs both lost by narrow margins, and a very good CHL campaign, you have to say it was a decent season, albeit slightly frustrating.
Anyway, rumour has it B Whistle to Belfast may no longer be happening and he could be staying. Very surprised if true but not upset!
