Fairly close to what we had, although Huttula got 19/20, with our threshold for staying being 14....so he was a definite keep.

Watling was 15/20, so he was also on our keep list, but not by a large margin.

Regards

I was disappointed with Watling this year compared to last season. I wonder if the Uni course took some of his focus away? I'd release him and look for a similar player. I still am very much on the fence with Huttula. I would re-sign him if we were struggling to improve on him.

Keep:

Greenfield
Tansey
Cormier
Huttula
Kelly
Balmas
Watling (unless better available)
Juusola
Dowd
Simpson
Golod (probably top priority from forwards)
2 ways

Potential:

Sauce
Shudra
Leavens (at right price/3rd line role)

Rest for me are all replaceable. I'm assuming Ciampini retiring is highly likely, as otherwise I'd add him to potentials depending on budget/role.

Also left Tremblay out as already signed to the Dogs. Shame his PHD takes up so much time as I'd definitely take him full time

Game On

For me, i want to see a total new group of imports, not that i wouldnt have any of this group back. This group has delivered what we wanted a [grand slam]. So for me i want to see what other players are out there , dont want to see same players all the time. Hopefully foxy can put together another strong team, i would like to see a more feisty bigger team with some character players not holding back on sticking up for the team when it is needed.

Pretty similar to my thoughts.
I'm not sold on Kelly as 6th D, certainly in the short term. The Brit group is a major issue. Would be nice if Brit guys weren't just the guys who soon end up riding the pine a lot of the time and we get some quality there.
Watling a fav last year but disappointed this year. 50/50 on him. If retained as first line Centre would expect much more from him especially in the big, tight games when star players need to shoe up.
Simpson if no higher than 3/4th line, just doesn't have the puck handling/distribution for higher up the lines but is his body and injuries an issue now.
Feel we have to move on Saucerman and Leavens if only from an age and speed issue-need to get younger and faster. Expected more goals from Leavens but he never quite got going.
I liked Vainio but Fox didn't with Diff and Guimond continuing to both play ahead of him so don't expect to see him.

Kelly is the best young Brit D apart from the Hazeldines. He'll keep improving but he needs time to adjust to Fox's systems as they're pretty demanding.

There's a few I don't think we saw the best of due to injury. Watling, Leavens and Vainio probably all fall in to that category. Watling was excellent the last 12 games or so and I think that's probably due to being healthy.

I would keep Diffley and Watling personally. Not sure we will find better out there and their performances against the Champions League teams and last year show that for me they have the required class and experience. Just my opinion but I have seen just about every game this season.
