With a 3-0 win today GB men are promoted back into the top division after winning the gold medal in qualifying.

Congratulations everyone involved.

Another fantastic achievement which goes completely unnoticed by the major media.

Over 1.2 million fans watched ice hockey live this season, yet there’s no decent TV deal :hey:

Well done lads.

Remember, EIHL ain't a development league. So league management don't need to develop the skills to negotiate one!

Another big achievement for all involved in Team GB to be proud of. The past 8 years of success has been down to a mix of lots of very hard work by the players/staff, shrewd tactics, punching above our weight, and a bit of luck. Sadly that will leave many to believe nothing really needs to change/improve with the infrastructure having made the top-tier 5 of the last 7 years. Yet with a bit more support, and younger Brits getting to develop with some additional EIHL minutes, we could likely shift into being a top-tier mainstay, even if it would be just above the relegation spots. If we could get the next bunch of GB players just a bit higher in quality, that would probably be enough to qualify for the Olympics, which would bring in millions of funding for the sport, on top of more mainstream media (and worldwide) coverage.

I didn't see that coming, so well done to all involved.

On paper the squad looks weaker than in some previous seasons, but clearly they worked as a team and out performed expectations.

Now get some well deserved rest.

Regards

Kirk made a massive difference. Absolute joke at that level, he's so far above now.

Going to be tough to replace BOC for GB though. Always seems to turn up for the national team, and a high level puck moving defenseman is not something I'm seeing from the current younger GB D.
