As predicted, the official announcement has been made. Now for the controversy to start, should they have ?, will they be known as the Fife Wife Beaters ?

Whilst the old saying there’s no smoke without fire, to try and take a balanced view, he was never convicted of his accused crime?

I’m not trying to stick up for him, just trying to point out the facts on some very basic research. It’s not a good look though that is for sure and I can see why people will quite rightly take a very dim view. Unfortunately, the case against him was dropped is the actual end result legally.
Let’s not pretend that the Steelers are whiter than white though. We did sign a match fixer in Mosienko. A far more minor issue granted, but that’s not a good look either.

Whilst Lucic comes over with negative and serious baggage, he’s the biggest name to sign in the UK since Theo Fleury. Not sure he’s going to get a welcomed reaction though.

Looks like they’ve taken up Quidditch?…
Bonkers tho it all is - it could benefit us by distracting/diverting from our own current issue.
Lucic numbers obviously taken a serious nose dive since his Bruins prime, so it will be really interesting to see him in the flesh for comparison on the EIHL standard.

I see this morning that one of Fife's sponsors has already disassociated them with the Flyers. Their new bit of business with the signing is already having financial negative effects.

And two members of the management have quit, Chalmers, who I believe was involved when Glasgow had a similar issue and he took an absolute pasting on social media, I can't fault him for not wanting to go through it twice, and their media guy who has said he can't support the current path the club is on has also resigned. These kind of deals feel very short term, even with Lucic I can't see them qualifying for the playoffs, when compared with the damage to the club the inevitable fallout has and will continue to cause.

Personal issues aside, I have a feeling he won't have the impact that some believe. Even so, I will watch with interest, regarding developments both on and off the ice

As a Bruins follower I’m disappointed
I can’t see me applauding him. I understand Fife trying to break out of their situation. I wonder though if they have lost more than they have gained. Time will tell.

I don't have a problem with Lucic signing.
It's certainly not very nice what he did, but it sounds like he's taken all the relevant courses and done what he can to rehabilitate himself. His wife seems to have forgiven him.
Do it again though and I'd support locking him up and throwing away the key.
No doubt he'll get a warm reception around the league.
I'm curious to see what he brings to Fife in terms of hockey ability.
Regards
Doom

I wonder how often Lucic has been on the wrong end of a 9-0 thrashing?
