OK little to object too, but I’m looking for the improvement we need. Looks as if it will depend on the remaining forward signings. Can Fox deliver?

Game On

at moment more or less same as last season, so now hopefully we start to see new faces coming in that will make the difference from last season

As it stands now, I don’t think they’ll be too many complaints from most fans. All the re-signings were on my own retain list and we have one new face and a previous player who we all know as a decent Brit in Whistle.

Perhaps Diffley would complete the ‘core group’ of returnees. I’d also like to see Tait return, but with Jasper already re-signed, perhaps as already pointed out on here, that would be two, too similar players.

I’d expect a quiet period for a few weeks, however, I’m sure Fox will have already identified the majority of his targets, but it’s a wait and see game now, while these new potential faces sum up their different contract offers etc.

Fingers crossed for a couple of ‘marquee’ signings.

At the moment we have a small group of forwards, apart from IBN.
Need some size in the remaining slots.

My thoughts about the remaining unsigned players:

McAdam - Would have back but it looks like he either retiring or moving elsewhere.
Warburton - Need someone in that role, not necessarily him.

Dougherty, Huutula - Release
Diffley - I'm 50/50 on.

Heard - Ok to retain if he plays physically. A good replacement would be Danny Katic (Allen Americans, ECHL).
Tait/Shudra - Release.

You see that's the sort of signing which would excite me a lot more than another 33 year old from the ICEHL who is on the downward slope of his career path.

Katic is 25, big body, put up fantastic points last year in the ECHL and had good +/-.

He's probably not a realistic signing for our league, but I'd certainly be excited if he did sign for us.

Katic would be great. Without having seen him play, his stats and age scream would be going to a better paying league in Europe first.

Depends on play style/skating but Slovakia/ICEHL/Allsvenskan you would expect to be interested, maybe even a lower end DEL team.

This is where the bits we don't know come in to play though. He might want to avoid language barriers etc or maybe a uni spot (although not sure his background screams MBA deal as only 1 year in USports, so might not be eligible).

Would be a big signing for any team in the league if they could manage it though.

We did manage to sign Roy and Forney, both of whom came with excellent ECHL stats (although Forney was from an earlier season), so we have attracted top ECHL players in the past.

I do agree though, if Katic does come to Europe, it's likely to be in a higher paying league than the EIHL.
