Guildford will have travelled 270 miles+, travelling to and from Cardiff this weekend, so we should have the upper hand when it comes to any ‘bus legs’.
I expect a tougher game than what Coventry gave us.
Let’s get off to a 4 point weekend. If we want to show that we are a title challenger, these are the early games to lay down a marker, especially against teams who we’re expected to finish above in the league.
Dowd is 1 point away from passing Ron Shudra’s all-time Steelers point leader. Shirt retirement should be a cert when Dowd hangs ‘em up.
Does Brine get this one?
3-2 Steelers.

Guildford were without Brown, Racine and Busch last night, not sure if all still missing for tonight but puts them down to 4 D. Hopefully we can take advantage of some heavy legs, especially when I think we eased up in the third last night.

Guildford have put together a strong looking squad and it sounds like they gave Cardiff a tough game last night, even with a few bodies missing.
Tonight won't be easy and if we play anything like we did in the 1st in Manchester, we'll lose.
This should be a good test of our credentials, because to win titles you need to win in places like Guildford.
It could be a big night for Robert Dowd, with 1 point needed to break Shudra's record. Part of me hopes he saves it for next Saturday. Somehow it would seem more appropriate to break it against Nottingham.
I hope Fox sticks with the same forward lines tonight, although I wouldn't be surprised if Brine starts and Stucker replaces Steele.

It looks like the same team as last night, which makes sense to me.
Greenfield didn't have a great pre-season, but was solid last night. Give him a chance to build on that.

Agreed. It would seem perverse to change the lines after last night. We seem to have landed on 4 lines each of which can do a job. Given that we perhaps lack some really high level stars, being able to run 4 lines could be our major strength as the season develops.

On flames web site game page face-off is now shown as 6:15. Does anyone know why? I hope Steelers haven’t had trouble on the journey.

Could be worse. Storm and Panthers don’t look to have even started yet.
