An improvement needed.

Straight forward win. Glasgow have lost all 5 of their league games.

4-1 Steelers.

I certainly won’t be watching this one. Storm stream instead for me on Sunday.

Game On

I have bought my tickets to be at the game with my son. I hope I haven't wasted my money. Looking for a good entertaining and committed team who want to change their ways. I am sure if this one goes the wrong way bums on seats will drop.

Looking at the seats available in blocks 206/207 and 212-214, I think they already have.

Still mulling over whether to go myself. I wasn't going to this time, but Barnsley are away and, as far as the Steelers are concerned, I am already at the point where I feel bad missing games. The bug has got me. So I may relent.

I can't say I'm particularly confident going into this one. Fife might be better than they were, but they're still a botton 3 team as far as I'm concerned and we could only score 1 against them.

Glasgow may have started poorly, but they are the only team to beat Belfast so far.

I've got a nasty feeling we're going to struggle again, with more poor passing, mis-controlled pucks and turnovers on the offensive blue line.

I hope I'm wrong, because I'll be there, but I suspect my bus journey home will be quite depressing.

It’s a bit of a bounce back game for us and Glasgow will be desperate for a turnaround. I think it could turn into a very difficult match if we aren’t on it from the start.

Annoyingly we’re away so can’t get there, but I think I might get this webcast out of the two. I feel it could go one of two ways where it’s either a real battle, or it could be paint drying time if both teams are completely misfiring… I’m crossing my fingers for the battle lol

Gettinger hat-trick anyone?

I wish I could offer a bit more cheer on here but I feel the same way. We also have a friend staying with us who came to a few games in the championship season. She can’t believe how far Steelers have slumped.

Can’t see anything else other than a Steelers win here.

One thing of note that I forgot to mention when listening to Fox answer the lack of physicality question on the Ice Line, my interpretation was that if it’s a close game and say someone bumps into Greenfield, like Hunt did, it’s very likely that they’ll be no or very little reaction unless we’re 4-1 up.

So if I was Glasgow I’d perhaps take the odd liberty whilst it’s 0-0 :D

I don’t care what the score is, as a fan, if someone runs your goalie they should be sorted out.

Fans would rather see our team concede penalties sticking up for their team mates than being roughed up with impunity. I dont get the coaches mentality at times.
We do have a problem that behind the bench (rather oddly) and ownership firstly dont seem to realise the importance of physicality in helping to win hockey games and secondly that the fans like it! Despite what they claim.
Letting the opposition team take liberties/not keep them honest leads to losing hockey.
Im normally an entertainment/exciting hockey first, let the result take care of itself sort of guy but tonight getting a W is the must. Even this early in the league season can't afford to drop so many points early doors as we aren't a team that tends to go on a long winning streak especially after xmas/new year.

To be honest, I don't have an issue with what Fox said about Greenfield being bumped.

I think there's a time and a place. If it's 1st period and the scores are level then I'd be disappointed if there wasn't a reaction, but when it's fairly late in a tight game I wouldn't want us taking the risk of a penalty.

As for tonight, it looks like Whistle is back but no Dowd. I was actually expecting it to be the other way around.

No Collins either, so that's us down at 40% on faceoffs. :)

Gettinger between Balmas and Archambault.....time to make an AHL impact Mr G.
