Nor surprised, looked a nasty injury that. Hopefully, he might recover in time for the Playoffs. At 36 though, I wouldn't be surprised if he called it a day.

We will need to use the Injury Reserve list I think and look at bringing in a replacement. Guess we have that with Valdix?

Whilst Connolly is a marmite type player, I'm very much on the like side. Yes, he can take the odd few daft penalties, but I love his rink rattness and he can still score you 30 goals a season.

What a huge loss that is.
Get well soon.
Very difficult to replace, no disrespect to Valdix but not really able to step into his skates.

On a brighter note I bet the referees will be pleased with the lack of earache.

Our injury problems continue. Huge problem for us to navigate through in the next few weeks.

Aaron says we are in the market for a new player. I'm not sure if there's any real quality out there at the moment? We will need some guys to step up once we're back healthy.

That bit made me laugh.

To be fair Valdix's role is/was a different one, so the comparison isn't valid. No-one knowing Valdix would expect or want him to try to adopt Connolly's style of play. I guess it depends on whether Fox feels Valdix has a place and a useful role to play in the team. If not he'll look elsewhere. The article on the Steelers website suggests to me that's what's happening. It may not lead to anything and Valdix may stay but that remains to be seen.

Good to hear the club will look after Conns. I remember Jonathan Phillips had a bad knee injury a few years back and he came back seemingly even stronger. Depends I suppose on desire and hard word to make a come back.

Would assume it’s tendon/ligament damage, he’s had a serious knee injury before with Glasgow so if it’s the same one it is not good fit his prospects at 36.
