IIHF World Championship Group B

GB will compete in Group B of the IIHF World Championship top tier.

We will play at the Nokia Arena in Tampere, Finland. Home of Ilves Tampere and Tappara Tampere both of the Finnish Liiga.

We will face:
Finland
USA
Czech Republic
Sweden
Latvia
Norway
Austria

I would be surprised if we manage to stay in pool A this year.

I’d expect we will be relegated I afraid.

No Kirk either.

You never know...if Bowns stands on his head against Austria that could be all we need.

Austria only managed 1 point in 2019, and GB could benefit from the fact that this Austrian team would have not been together since 2019 (due to all lower divisions being cancelled in 2021)

Don't have to outrun the run the bear as they say...

I'm amazed that Batch made the initial squad. His skating and puck handling is too limited for international hockey.
Going to be a tough ask as always.

Finished 2-0 Denmark last night.

Hoping for at least a goal this afternoon as I'm taking the kids to watch the game today.

First time at the motor point and first time watching GB.
