Steelers confirm the addition of Sam Jones on a 2 year deal.

With British D men at a premium, Jones represents one of the best around value wise.

The former Fife man has amassed 113 EIHL appearances and was our best +/- defenceman with +26.

He stands 6”2” and played every single game for the Steelers in 21/22, only Kevin Schulze managed the same.

Well, it's a start! No brainer - had to get Sam signed up before anyone else got their sticky mitts on him. Really pleased.

And the first one of our top 6 players, nice to know Aaron Fox is in agreement with the fans on this occasion

A great start to the post-season, thought he grew into one of the standouts to be honest, was consistent and seemed to adapt his game from early on in the season and picked his time to join the rush and pinch down the boards.

Excited to see him again next season with a full season behind him.

It's nice to know someone on your team has got your back.

Again what we all keep saying... Ask any team and they will all say we need a couple of tough guys prepared to keep the opposition honest and inline and to step up and dish it out if needed. I dont think you can underestimate the importance players put on a teammate thats prepared to take a smack in the gob and a few punches for his mates when needed... it also sends an important message when a colt, Desbians or Fitzy type player can play with the best but dish it out too..
