Panthers and Devils seem to have got their acts together and are displaying some fan interaction. Pacha and Graham are linking with their fans via podcasts and Q&A forums. Kellman and DuPont are making similar moves. It's not so long ago when the Steelers were regarded as innovators - those days seem to have gone. Year after year the same old formula applies. Drip feed signings/re-signings/departures. Doing something because "that's the way we've always done it" displays a comfort zone attitude. Yesterday the Devils announced 5 signings in one day - that guarantees fan interest. Why aren't we moving on? I'd be interested in others' points of view

It’s a long off season, 100 days until the start of play so need to spread things out as much as possible in order to ensure it’s filled.
I’m sure there’ll be players signed ready to be announced at our leisure.

I know. I've gone through it since 1992. But that's my point. We don't suffer from short attention spans. I'm not going to forget I'm a supporter during the summer months. Why do we keep doing things the same old way? Get things changed up so that prospective recruits can see our organisation is on the move.SteelerBlade wrote: ↑Tue May 31, 2022 3:42 pmIt’s a long off season, 100 days until the start of play so need to spread things out as much as possible in order to ensure it’s filled.

I agree with Ron. We've got our formula and stick to it. I do think could do with freshening up. It's like the match night entertainment. Same songs played at exactly same time. Video pans to Norma.
I'd describe it as stale. Used to be the innovators now not even the followers. At risk of being left behind apart from the fact we have the biggest fan base and potential fan base.

I think your last sentence is very relevant Paul. Maybe that's part of the problem - the organisation think their work is done, and there's no need to innovate. I am just finding the whole thing a little stale.paul johnston wrote: ↑Tue May 31, 2022 4:36 pmI agree with Ron. We've got our formula and stick to it. I do think could do with freshening up. Completely agree, but can’t see anything changing unfortunately.

Very little changes at our club unless it gets passed the old guard.. They know best and its their way or the highway, ask some of those recently on the wrong side of the club line..
Inovation comes from the desire to change I think.. If there is no desire or no belief in the need, then it won't happen.

In essence Jay, that's just what I'm saying. And it's not only off the ice where we're failing. We used to be the team that everyone hated - that's gone. Teams hated playing in our gaff - if the last few seasons are anything to go by - that's gone too.Jayboy wrote: ↑Tue May 31, 2022 6:30 pmVery little changes at our club unless it gets passed the old guard.. Doubt much will change regarding any news of signings etc. I guess some justification will be drip feeding keeps the ‘new’ fans more interested. Us old stick in the muds are IMO very much an inconvenience for the club as a few of us don’t tow the club’s line of spin etc.
I would like to think the new scoreboard/jumbotron might freshen up the match night entertainment a little bit.
So yes, I very much believe the Steelers are lagging behind.

Yes we are lagging behind others with our fan communication, which hasn't changed for years.
I'm sure I've read we have made several signings too date, but insist on this drip feeding, which takes us back to the "we know something you don't know" concept, which I find quite arrogant, but not surprising.
