Martin Látal - Re-Signed

[SteelerBlade]

Steelers re-sign experienced 34 year old Czech winger Martin Látal. The speedster, who also has a scoring touch, iced 66 times for us last season scoring 61 points.

He’s vastly experienced in his homeland, a veteran of 645 Czech Extraliga appearances for the likes of Rytíři Kladno, HC Plzeň, HC Sparta Praha, HC ENERGIE Karlovy Vary, BK Mladá Boleslav, HC Hradec Králové, HC Dynamo Pardubice & HC Litvínov.

Great news to have Latal back, a real speedster and changed the game for us with his quickness on many occasions.

Sounds like he's bringing 2 more Czech players with him too (Boruta and Polak) or maybe an old face like Hrabel or even someone completely new to us?

Excellent! Just the sort of news I needed.

Really great news! - Pleased to see him back in Orange. I hope he has a fantastic year especially now he knows the league etc. A great character who plays the old Steelers way.

So the average age of the squad 1st team players up to now is (not including 2 way players)

Jono - 40 when the season starts
Dowd - 34 when the season starts
Latal - 34 when the season starts
Davey - 35 when the season starts
Jones - 24 when the season starts

Average age 33.4 years old.

IF Boruta (33) and Polak (36) re-signed that would be up to 33.7 years old.

Some younger blood needed I think.
