Brett Neuman:

Brett is a dynamic forward who plays with great quickness and is excellent in tight areas.
He’s got a great shot and is a very unselfish offensive player. Brett’s a natural Center but he can also play all 3 forward positions. I think he will come in and run some big numbers for us.
Brett is young and extremely motivated to come in and be a top end guy and contributor for us this year. If you look at his last year in the OHL which was the same last year Kirky was there the numbers he put up were outstanding. In his rookie year in ECHL in 20-21 in Allen where he played for Aaron Johnson who had great things to say about his game, character and work ethic as well.
He played on a line at times with Conway from Belfast and their numbers looked very similar. We all know that does not translate to the same success that’s for sure but when watching on tape his game really stood out.

At this stage we have very little to go on other than his numbers.
Getting the negatives out of the way, those ICEHL stats last season are brutal. Did he struggle converting to the larger European ice and if he did that doesn't bode well for us.
Taking the positives, he's still young and hopefully improving. His ECHL stats are slightly better than Scott Conway when playing on the same team, although it is only 25 games.
His OHL stats are also very good and look similar to a certain Dan Tessier who didn't do a bad job in our league.
If it wasn't for his ICEHL stats I'd be excited by this signing, but unfortunately those stats do exist so it makes it very much a wait and see.
Fox is no fool and he will have seen the same stats as me and he has the luxury of watching video and talking to players/coaches, so I'm sure he will have done his research on those ICEHL numbers and satisfied himself that this guy will be good for us.
I'd pencil this guy in as our 1st line centre.
Regards
Doom

Hmmm I suppose a positive is he’s young and good junior level numbers.
Less positive he’s scored just 3 assist points in 15 ICEHL games that’s a worry on the larger European pad.
ECHL 0.64 a game a work in progress one might say but 8 goals in 25 ECHL appearances is quite good.
I get the feeling if this guy doesn’t work out Deluca will be back in his place which will of been the plan from the outset.
This guy is not a first line centre that will be left to Connolly.
Not much else to say really looks mediocre at best I would of taken Hammond a proven goal scoring forward in this league which was the addition we needed to compete for silverware.

I am not quite so negative, to me he looks an excellent amd exciting pickup and at 23 he certianly is the right age to come In and play hard and prove he is worthy of slot, I am. With Doom on him. Being a top or 2nd centre..

No one has mentioned the fact that he outscored Liam Kirk when he played in the OHL in the same season as him. Surely that's worth mentioning ?

Ciampini looks a great signing hope he does the business

I’d of liked to see someone in the mould of Sylvestre, Hammond, Martin in the final C role someone proven in this league or comparative leagues in Europe. I appreciate the adding youth and up and coming talent to a team but the final C role IMO needed to be a player of proven quality this lad is an unknown quantity and didn’t do too well last season in the ICEHL we already have 2 let’s wait and see signings in Raska and Mitchell why take the gamble with our final C? I also remember the last time we went down this younger route with little to no experience in European/higher leagues messyrs Della Rovere, Pitt, and the Driscoll brothers (Matt and Ryan etc…. it didn’t fair too well did it?
I truely hope this Roster comes together I really do and proves me wrong but there’s just something very vanilla about it!

Or scored at a comparable rate to Scott Conway in the ECHL, 0.65 PPG Vs 0.64 PPG....and he didn't turn out too bad last year. He's a very Belfast-esque signing IMO, makes a welcome change to see someone young and hungry with a point to prove.

Think Neumann will surprise a lot of folk.
I'm not holding the ICEHL stats against him whatsoever. He joined an average team late on in to their season and didn't get top 6 minutes consistently.
Refreshing to see a young talented import on the roster. Think sticking him in between two journeymen in Ciampini and Allen will only improve his game.
