Right at the very beginning. Steelers visited my son’s school and left vouchers for children taking an adult. We went of course and then to every other game in first season and have had two season tickets ever since. Totally absorbed by the amazing show it is. Watch every away game on webcast. Steelers is the best.
A couple of years ago I was taken serious ill with sepsis, in a coma for a month and intensive care for another. At my age that takes some recovering from so missed a season live but watched every home game on webcast. We kept and paid for our unused season tickets. We love our seats just above the plexiglass on the red line. At my first game back in a suite as a present from my family Simms was kind enough to surprise me on the big screen. It does really feel like another family at times. The Smith era has brought a stability we haven’t always seen thank goodness. The win at Växjö seems to mark an arrival at the highest level we can expect to attain. Well done the whole Steelers outfit.

My story starts around March 1992. We'd been given free tickets via a relation who worked at BT that used to sponsor the club. I think it was against Solent, the 30-4 game.
Went to 3 games that season and started going regularly from 1993. ST holders from 1994 onwards. Had 1 year in block 119, 1 season in 114 and rest of the time in my current seat in 105.
Started travelling to away in around 1997.
I wouldn't like to count up the amount spent on following the club but its great the people you meet and the places it takes you. Been to Sweden twice (Gothenburg & Vaxjo), Austria, Italy (Bolzano), France (Grenoble), Denmark three times (Herning, Rugsted & Aalborg) and now Switzerland following the club.
Tilburg was a bit before my time as I would've been 14 then. Didn't go to Norway, Omsk or Jonkoping (HV71).
Favourite set of away fans has be Revier Lowen Oberhausen from Germany.
Met some great people and made some life-long friends.
Hockey fans are generally a good bunch and you can usually have a chat with the locals.

My maths teacher David Gledhill top bloke and Avid Steelers fan used to organise school trips once a month. I started going in 1997 from our school in Leeds. Maths was never my strong suit but was made a lot more enjoyable talking to him before and after lessons how he thought we’d get on the next game where we’d end up for the season and the general chit chat we have on this forum. My first game marked the arrival of Ed Courtney believe we played the Basingstoke Bison that game🤔. His classroom was adorned with Ken Priestlay posters and various glory moments from the club past I was always fascinated by the goalie with the cool mask and pads looked awesome as a 14 year old impressionable teen.😂

I remember my mum not been able to afford the ticket to go one month, David kept asking me every lesson to bring in my parental permission slip and money. I was too embarrassed to respond and just avoided the topic with my head down, anyway the last maths lesson before the game he was walking around the classroom and stopped in front of my desk with my marked paper (low marks)😂 but underneath was the ticket for the game oh the joy!!!! Like Charlie finding the golden ticket! If your reading this Sir thank you for the great memories and your kind gestures to a young man who will forever be grateful.

Great story. Thank you for sharing. Well done David!! Cheers
