All the information I have is from reading various posts/articles on Twitter, but basically they signed a guy called Lasse Uusivirta, who had confessed to police in the US that he had raped an 18 year old girl in college. Then fled back to Finland to avoid any charges.

It seems that the guys in charge at the Clan knew about this before the signing, especially when you see there is a video interview with their media guy saying 'charges have been dropped'... it appears they haven't at all.

I'm sure there's a lot more details out there on it, but that's the basic gist of it all.

Why would they do that, I mean in terms if the risk on what looks like a bang avarage player at best?

And I haven't even woken up yet. Seems like this was a great decision on the part of Neil Black. If they knew why would they even consider him. Even if charges WERE dropped, I would look deep into it.

A video report for some context: http://america.aljazeera.com/watch/show ... ction.html

I know a lot management types in sports orgs in general tend to be rather disconnected from fans, but this really takes the absolute biscuit, and I'm utterly embarrassed it's our club that's done it. I was already highly uncomfortable with the rumours we were after DeLuca, considering how many imports are out there to be signed without such a controversy attached with them. This one is an entirely new level of that, and all for what? A bang average (at best) import D, who admitted such a heinous crime and fled justice.

Bad enough one mind thought this was even remotely close to being a good idea. Multiple minds being involved alongside the pathetic attempts to dismiss it all was just absolutely appalling. Time for new suite of management, don't care if it means not winning a game all season and being rooted to 10th, price well worth paying. It's also our only possible course to recover from this, the damage is monumental and hitting the mainstream Scottish press. Club will be tarnished with this for a very, very long time.

You shouldn't feel that way. The big guys will always put themselves and their bank accounts first. They often don't care what the fans think until things start getting beyond their control. Just remember, IT'S NOT YOUR FAULT!!

Scratching my head to work out exactly how they thought this was in any way a good idea, there was never going to be a positive reaction to the news, it just emphasises how detached from reality a business can become and how behaving in an ethical manner just isn't a factor, something we have been guilty of more than once.

I'd rather play short all season long than let a player with a history like that anywhere near my club. Absolutely beggars belief what was going through the minds of the clan management when they made the signing. After Brexit I'm not sure of the visa rules, but surely someone with that background would be a huge red flag.

The new statement from the clan smells a bit whiffy, doesn't it, I can smell it all the way over in Lanzarote

Update - Cameron returned as Head Coach, Chalmers named by job role only, that will be "replaced by a GM". Chalmers is also MD of the arena, so effectively is still there just technically not in a job role for the Clan.

Between last night and this morning, 5 sponsors have suspended their deals with the club, including the title sponsor. Both the club's Commerical Director and Graphics Designer have resigned. Hearing more sponsors will pull out as the day goes on without action by the club.

Few of the tweets below sponsors have put out, they say more or less the same thing:
