I just discovered earlier that Sheffield has more of a link to hockey than the majority of Canada (apart from Montreal of course). The Stanley cup was made here for God's sake and was bought for just under $50USD in today's money. Sheffield is one of the original hockey cities. This is amazing, it honestly blew my mind...

Only the bowl part at the top, as I remember the story.

It started life as a silver punch bowl until Lord Stanley purchased it . I think the original rarely sees the light of day as there are two other copies which have added “ Stovepipe ,“ bottoms . One is presented to the winners every year , the other is in the Hockey Hall of Fame in Toronto.
