You simply can’t do that with officials.

Not sure from watching the video he was upset about?

5 games is too short for me.

Sorry but i disagree.. its a non incident really... the call on the night was warranted and of course DOPS needed to add to it.. But we advocate character, grit, tension, Passion and even physical frustration in our games and moan its missing, because the game now as become sterile and we think 5 games is not enough...?

Back in the day of bench clearances and 5 fights a night Sticks often got thrown and the officials got plenty of argie bargie from players etc... we have seen much worse than what Dubeau did ..

Firstly he didn't even throw his stick at the official and the push (he shouldn't have done that I agree) was in the heat of the moment slight push.. Nothing really, I would have gone 3-5 games as about right... The game is soft now days.

Everyone are saying he went nuts.. NO he Didn't, Some fans have short memories if they think he went nuts :slaphead: :D  :D ..
He should be punished and called for on the night and he was... fairly in my opinion, he may have only got 3 game ban for pushing the official if I had been in charge, the extra for the stick throw was pathetic too me.. :hockey:

No matter how severe or not it was any physical contact on an official should be dealt with harshly. I thought it was too lenient.

It was dealt with and to me it was about right (ish). and some calling for him to be banned for the season is just ridiculous :slaphead:
to me some are just jumping on the social media bandwagon and not looking at the incident. DOPS for once, didn't do a great deal wrong in this one for me...

Yeah it was dealt with but for me not long enough. The guys a clown, surely it gets in the way of his performance being so angry. I wonder if there is a major reason for his anger issues they are way off the scale

We certainly do advocate grit, passion etc but not against the officials Jay.

Throwing a GOALIE stick which is really heavy even in the general direction of the official is completely unacceptable whether it hit him or not. That’s 3 games for me just for that alone. You then can’t push the ref in the back deliberately. Officials are not fair game like players are.

He lost his cool over nothing as well. His own player fell over him and the goal was a good goal. What problem did he have against the officials there? It’s not as if there was a bad call or anything. If he wanted to lose his cool, then do that with your own team.

Yes, in the old days officials did get involved, but I would say that any contact was generally accidental not like this incident.

8 games would be my punishment. 3 for the stick and 5 for the push. I’d also want a statement of apology.

It seems I am a dying breed then, out on my arse with this one.. :Puzzle:

I would given him the 2 minutes for stick one game at most later in DOPS and then 3 for the push.. :surprise:

It might be me that’s going soft Jay and if that was against a player, I would have been saying it was too harsh a ban, but against officials especially when there hasn’t even been a bad call by them in that incident I think he’s lucky to get away with just 5 games.

I’d have more sympathy for him if there was a horrendous call, but there wasn’t.

Season ban? No way.
