David Simms catches up with Steelers head coach Aaron Fox in the middle of summer recruitment process as the team builds for the 2023/2024 season.
What you think?

Watched it, always like the way he communicates but I didn't hear anything that says next year will turn out any different to last year. We seem to want to do the same but expect a different result.

I like the idea of an update, but not really anything that would get me interested in this particular update.
Whilst I’m sure we’re not the only club, if we’ve signed players why don’t we announce them?
Sure it’s a small world and our rival clubs will already know who we’ve signed, likewise us with them.
I’ve already lost confidence in Fox over the last 2 seasons, so it’s very much wait and see for me.

I watched it yesterday and I can't say it filled me with any confidence.
It sounded like he wanted Mosey back, which certainly didn't tick a positive box for me if that's his train of thought.
He did suggest we need to be bigger at the back end and clear our net better, which I think we'd all agree on.
This season is very much wait and see for me, but I'm expecting more of the same.
Regards
Doom

Isn't that one of the definitions of madness?

The only positive I took from that was 'bigger at the back'. A fairly lengthy interview that didn't say a great deal

Was pretty much my thought. Didn't really fill me with hope

I think the one overriding feeling I got was of a very vanilla outlook, little or no passion or determination to alter anything he has done before, rather like he doesn't see an actual issue at all, sticking to the belief we were good enough or there abouts and a few lucky bounces here and there would have seen us victorious in all aspects.
Honestly I wanted to see him utterly angry at the way we fizzled out towards the sharp end of the season and a determination for that not to happen again...
All I actually got was a bit of a shrug of the shoulders and an admission we should have done better and he will play about tweaking his current philosophy because thats all he needs to doe to scrape it next season!!

I'm not filled with confidence after watching this. I'm not even sure that Foxy is confident about next season.
I think Tony Smith is going to regret not making a change of coach.

It didn't inspire me at all. A very soft PR exercise to keep the fans warm after a couple of departures.
We need some size / strength at the back & have done for a couple of years. 19/20.was the last time I feel we had with Johnson, Tron & Kuukka. 2 of these type of guys would be great if Fox wants to keep the D men who favour attack over Defence.
We added size up front last season, Mitchell, Pitule, Mcnally, none of who lived up to the preseason billing of bringing size & physicality to the team.
This close season will be make or break for Fox as we chase Belfast & Cardiff.
