Good signing, offers good size and has offensive qualities too. Can chip in a few goals here and there.

Doesn’t take many PIMs as well which means he should be decent positionally and 1v1.

If Cardiff/Belfast had signed him, I'd be a little envious, so tells me this looks a good one.

He mentioned goalies usually like him as he's responsible defensively and likes to clear the crease - that'll certainly do!

On the face of it he seems to fit the bill. He's not too old, got a pretty good CV and should bring that physical presence to our D that we've been missing.

Welcome Kevin.

Was heavily linked with Steelers last season, fantastic signing & 1 our fans have been screaming out for now for a few seasons, a big body that'll take no nonsense, look after our tender & clear the crease.

Like this one alot.

Generally happy with this signing.

Positives:

- He brings size and is apparently quite physical, which I'm sure we're all pleased to read.

- He's at a decent age so shouldn't be starting that steep decline in form just yet.

- He should score plenty of goals from defence (6 goals in 26 games in the Czech league is outstanding. Latal managed 2 in 41 in his last season there.)

Negatives

- His +/- stats are generally quite poor relative to his team mates, which makes me think he probably isn't the best defensively, especially with him putting up decent points.

I wonder if he gets a lot of goals on the powerplay, because that wouldn't show up on his +/-.

Overall I'd say I'm a 7/10 on this one.

Regards

Doom

I liked the 'goalie love' comment as well - bodes well and sounds like something we've been missing, certainly couldn't say Greenfield was ecstatic with some of the help he got last season despite his outstanding season.

Definitely a good start to the 'new' signings for this season!!

The trouble is we have heard those types of statements before, anyone remember the BFG, skated like he was constipated, had a turning circle of a super liner and was has tough has week old milk..? I will eagerly await too see him on the ice before I get excited..
