It sounds very much like were not finished signing, Aaron says he is on the lookout for a spare import forward.. A couple of guys he has had a conversation with already? names?
I think several of his forwards signed up now are, I think we can agree a massive gamble, if they all pay off Mr Fox looks a genius, if not well we may definitely need a spare or two? :hey:

We've signed a lot of forwards who struggled to score last season, so there is an element of risk with that, so it would be good if we could bring in a decent quality spare who could step in if anybody is under performing or struggles to adapt to our league.

Hopefully we get one signed and signed fast. We've known from previous years Injuries strike even early in pre-season and better to have spares early doors. Hopefully we can find a shooter because it looks as if we have a lot of creators/pass first guys.

We were generally pretty lucky with injuries overall last year and can't imagine we well get.thar lucky two years in a row

If there's the budget available, then a spare import player makes complete sense. Also should create some competition for places which is also a good thing.

Although, if you asked me if I'd prefer a bigger player budget v's no spare import slot(s) then I would always spend my budget on the best players available within that.

We shouldn't be worried about playing the odd game short handed with better players. Steelers teams of old have won with 12 players before, including the coach having to play!

There was a very different work ethic within the club, in years gone by.

Also a massively different standard in play (and general fitness) these days - Fox was way too good for our league when he played but I doubt a mid 40s Fox who hasn't played for a number of years could step in and do a job with the standard where it is.

This team is definitely a wait and see for me. It could be very exciting or hugely disappointing. As it stands though, I am looking forward to seeing the players in action, and I am cautiously optimistic :peek: :D

I wonder what this could mean on the website:

The remaining members of the team will arrive this weekend … and we may have some special and breaking news coming out of the camp last Saturday afternoon …

I'm assuming it should be late Saturday afternoon.

Doom, knowing our club it could well be last Saturday and they forgot to tell us. Does no-one proof read before posting as it continues to be an embarrassment.

By the end of this weekend, the Steelers should have all but one of their imports in place, the last of which – believed to be a Canadian-born forward with AHL experience – could be announced in the next 24 hours.
