Ok just for the fun of it with only a couple of weeks to wait..
Let's try to rank our coaches and Assistant coaches we have had over the years from the very best at the top right down to the Never again at the bottom....
Give your reason where you feel the need and at the end give your
BEST TWO combinations you would go with.. or we can call them coaching lines, so a first line and a second line, your allowed 2 or 3 per combination... Ie.
Don McKee-Marc LeFebvre-Tom Barrasso
But you must have at least 1 coach and 1 Assistant coach..
I think we have had a total of
14 coaches and
8 Assistant coaches
(unless i missed any)
Enjoy
Coach
Ronnie wood
Alex Dampier
Don McKee
Mike Blaisdell
Rob Stewart
Paul Heavey
Dennis Maxwell
David Whistle
David Matsos
Ben Simon
Ryan Finnerty
Doug Christiansen
Gerad Adams
Paul Thompson
Tom Barrasso
Aaron Fox
Assistant coach
Clyde Tuyl
Paul Turner
Neil Abel
Marc LeFebvre
Darrell Hay
Jerry Andersson

I did it from memory, so it doesn't surprise me I missed a someone, but I still only make it 15, when I add Dennis Maxwell to the list

I thought he only ever was the GM but yeah I guess before Alex came in someone had to do it, I had him down as an assistant..

I only started watching the Steelers during the Blazer years, so I would select the following two combinations…
1..Blazer & Big Neil,
2..Simon & Adams,
Now I know Adams was the coach and not an assistant, but he would have been my third choice as a coach. How this club sacked him after winning the league like they did is beyond belief!
As for Ben Simon, that first game, first shift… talk about sending out a statement of intent!
