It’s now 20 years since the EIHL started and it got me thinking how the 2003-2004 double-winning team would get on against the current 2023-2024 squad.
So, what do you think the outcome would be in a seven game series?

Darling – Shudra
Bolibruck – DeWaele
Adams – Duncombe
Dutiaume – Anderson – Irving
Bobyck – Peron – Ellis
Lake – LeFebvre – Bliss
I can’t recall the exact lines so feel free to correct me if you can remember. I also realise there were a few other players involved such as Farrand and Bailey (and of course Dobson as NM up until Christmas), and Adams played as a forward frequently too.
My own thoughts are that the current team would come out on top due to strength in depth in the forwards (although I think the first two lines above would hold their own), but the 2003-2004 team may nick a couple of games due to their defence and net minding.
4-2 to 2023-2024 team.
