I wasn’t at the game or watching the stream.

I’m not religious, but my thoughts and prayers are with the Panthers player.

I’m sure every hockey fan around the world will wish nothing but the very best.

Really, really hope there’s some positive news soon.

I’ll be completely honest (selfishly), I’m glad I’ve not had to witness such a terrible incident.

It must be terrible for everyone involved especially the player that ran into him.

We have to focus on the positives as it sounds like medical aid was there very, very quickly. The Northern General hospital is only minutes away too.

I personally don't know if I want the season to be cancelled fully after witnessing that tonight, horrible horrific scenes. The challenge Cup should be cancelled at least. Yes it's a physical sport but nobody needs to see that, let's just hope and pray for Adam Johnson and send some love to Petgrave too

Unfortunately the news does not sound good. Still waiting for some news from the club which should come soon but plenty of family members posting the very sad news that Adam has passed away. We are numb with shock.

Sadly he’s passed away. Friends and family members confirming on Social Media.

You have to think all games will be cancelled this evening.

This is so tragic and I feel bad for anyone who had to witness this live. I see people are posting videos of the incident but seriously who would want to see this…

Like so many others, I feel numb this morning. The players and staff at both clubs will probably need some form of counselling.

The Elite League has shown respect in cancelling all Elite Leagues games today. This a time fir us all to reflect on exactly what these players put themselves through and the potential risks in the game. Such a sad, sad time for everyone engaged in the sport.
