This will be tough, show your support for each other and stand together.

The result for this game doesn’t really matter. It’s about showing our support for the players and staff, which I’m sure will be amazing and probably the best ever seen in the Steelers history.
I’m sure everyone will feel far less anxious once we have this home game under our belt.

The club has surely got this right. Waited until after the funeral out of respect. Then an away game first without having to skate out at the arena first game.

It's all about climbing back on the horse with this one, and more concerned about the players than the result

Thanks for posting that Mark. Although I don't anticipate needing it myself, it's good to know it's there for those who do.
Whilst it will be a huge step for some, it could also be seen as a series of smaller steps, for example, the decision to go (or not), the purchase of tickets, the journey there, entering the building, meeting friends, seeing the ice etc. A huge emotional challenge is likely to be when the players come onto the ice and, of course, the tribute to Adam Johnson. Each step achieved will be a hurdle jumped. We are all different and there is no right or wrong way to do this. Everyone should be able to decide, without pressure, if and when they return. For my own part, I need to climb back on the horse as quickly as possible and face the demons but, as I said, we are all different and need to make our own decisions.

I think if everybody linked hands during the rememberance would be a good way for everyone show their feeling towards Adam Johnson.

I’m sorry but I think I will want to be inside my own head not dealing with strangers.

I will be there, I need to be.. ive got to be for me, my family and any of my hockey buddies.. My brain is constantly telling me, get to the arena
(get back on the horse) I may keep to myself... Mel and the kids will be there with me and we can help each other, especially Libby and Sam.
But i also want to be there for the guys, I want them to look up and see every last one of us that feel they can go, and look back at them and clap them or just let them see in our eyes we are there for them and each other..
I may seek out the comfort of like minded hockey buddies, you guys who know me know who you are...
I will need to talk and I will, but I dont know for certain until i get in the arena. I only know I need to be in their...
I can't adequately describe the feeling why but I know with all my sole that I need it, I need to breathe without a lump in my throat , I need to see my team in orange and know they will be OK, I need to see Eric my buddy down below me, ask how I am by putting his thumb up to me! he does it every week, its always meant a lot.. I need Julie to ask me who scored because she was on her phone when the goal went in! I need to look around the arena and see the usual faces I always see, some of them I dont even know.. I also need to laugh in the arena again..
I JUST NEED TO BE THEIR!!
I hope you understand my ramblings
Hockey is just what I do....

I’m so glad the team have played a game in Manchester before having to skate out at the arena. I’m sure it will stand them in good stead tomorrow. I’m also delighted that we are getting a huge turnout. I’m sure they will feel us all behind them.
